Badass Proxy Chrome Extension — Privacy Summary

The extension handles the proxy host, port, username and password entered by the user solely to configure Chrome's proxy connection. Username/password are stored in chrome.storage.session for the browser session only. Host/port and enabled status are stored locally in chrome.storage.local.

Proxy credentials are not sent to Badass application APIs. They are supplied only to Chrome proxy-authentication challenges. The extension does not collect, sell, or store browsing history.

When the user explicitly clicks Test, the browser requests https://backend.badass.fo/api/public/tools/v1/echo through the configured proxy and displays the observed exit IP. As with any web request, the Badass server can observe the source IP of that request.
